What gets more action than internet porn? tic-toc tic-toc… times up. It’s social networking. Yep. According to Bill Tancer, GM of global research at Hitwise, an Internet tracking company, surfing for porn entertainment dropped in half to about 10 percent of searches from 20 percent a decade ago and now the hottest thing on the net is hanging out in social networks, especially for the 18-24 crowd.
“My theory is that young users spend so much time on social networks that they don’t have time to look at adult sites”, said Tancer. Ah, Bill, maybe social networking sites ARE the new porn sites.
