What is the killer internet application? Yup, it’s email. According to a recent Pew/Internet survey (August 2008), a whopping 60% use it everyday. What about search? 49%.
And that channel some marketing experts are pushing– social networking? Only 13% use those sites (more folks check the weather: 30%).

- 28% still use dial up (58% have broadband)
- younger internet users are more likely to use search than older internet users: those 18-29: 55% age 50-64: 40%
- men are more likely to use search than women (53% v 45%)
- users with annual income over $50K are significantly more likely to use search engines
