The most expensive Thanksgiving experience begins at the private chef’s table for 12 at Café Gray in New York City. The day begins at 8:30 am with a breakfast which includes caviar scrambled eggs, bichermuesli, brioche, Bellinis and Bloody Marys. Watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade floats from the Lavender Room. A magic show for the whole family follows. Hang out in the Brasserie Bar tossing back Glühwein and Steak Tartare while the NFL tosses footballs on the plasma TV screens. Finally the roasted organic lemon thyme turkey is brought out with the gourmet fixins and foie gras. Finish with desserts that include Jack Be Little and Million Dollar Pie.
You may leave the restaurant heavier in the waistline but $10,000 lighter in the wallet. Chef Gary Kunz won’t let you forget it, as he sends you home with a signed copy of his cookbook The Elements of Taste (1 per family). Full details here.
Happy Thanksgiving!
