Google News is a good source of current information. News categories are World, US, Business, Sci/Tech, Sports, Entertainment, Health and Most Popular. Pick a category, inert your search term and the latest news appears. Now dig to your heart’s content. To get your Google News delivered you have 2 choices: RSS feed or email Alert.

RSS Feed: You have 2 options here. (1) You can get the feed for the News Category (general) or (2) do a news search and get the feed for that search term (specific).

If you are interested in a special niche, say “Manhattan timeshares”, do the Google News search and get the feed by clicking the RSS link. You’ll see all that code nonsense. Fortunately, I use Bloglines & I just click my “Sub with Bloglines” toolbar icon and bingo I have the feed. Now I just check my feed for the latest news on Manhattan Timeshares.

Google Alerts: If you prefer your news delivered by email, use Google Alerts. You need to set up an account first. Creating the Alert is easy. Simply choose search terms, type (News, Web, News & Web, Groups), frequency & your email address.

If you find your email filled with Google Alert results just go into your Account to Manage Alerts. There you can edit or delete your alerts.
