One Click Submits Your Post to Multiple Social Bookmarking Sites: Onlywire

You can add your blog post to multiple Social Bookmarking sites with one click using an Onlywire bookmarklet. Here are the sites your post will go to:

The Hard Part: In order to use the tool you first have to open accounts at one or more of the above sites. It’s time consuming but necessary to use the tool. But don’t sweat it. Once you create your account at Onlywire, the links to the sites are provided. As you sign up at the various social sites above, keep a list of your login and password to each (it’s easier if you pick the same login & password for each site, as you will see). Now enter the login & password beside each site on the Onlywire summary page (a simple copy & paste if you have the same login/password). Drag the bookmarklet marked “Save Page (fr)” to your toolbar & you’re done.

Now the easy part. Whenever you want to add your post to all of those social sites you simply click the “Save Page (fr) bookmarklet. Your post URL and title will appear in the appropriate boxes (check it). Add tags or comments and click “Bookmark Page“. Your post will automatically be sent to each site. Neat. If you want to be selective, no problem. Just click “post to” and a small screen appears with checkboxes beside each site. Uncheck the sites you do not want to send your post to.

Here’s what you’ll see when you click the Save Page (fr) bookmarklet to send off your post:

For other social bookmarking sites, there is another multiple social bookmarking system here, but it involves a multi-step submission process for each site. It’s not as easy as Onlywire but still much easier than going to each site.

Very cool, I didn’t even think to look for something like this. Thanks for the tip.

Interesting tool. I’ve wondered about the value of self-submission to social bookmarking sites. It seems like that may be frowned upon by some in the social bookmarking community.

I have seen many self-submitted stories receive hundreds of diggs. The social bookmarking system is such that if there is something of true value or interest, it will be embraced even if self-submitted. If it is of little value it is not dugg (ignored) no matter who the submitter was. As for others, they are DEFINED as bookmarking sites, a place where you can keep your bookmarks, whether they are your pages or anothers, and you choose whether or not to make them public.

I am going to try it. Thanks for the tip. I have to say, signing up for all of those other sites is not too appealing. As it is, I have trouble keeping track of all of my “tools”.
