Brian -

Almost; I think the result so far proves that Realtors read this blog :-) I did think twice about posting the link for that very reason - but regardless - let's give it a few weeks and see how it pans out.

I think the results of the poll prove that:

a- Realtors participate on Zillow
b- Consumers don't

Try it! (68% picked the right answer)

[...] The National Association of Realtors has really stuck a stick in it. They have selected RealtorGenius blog as its latest trademark infringer. The RE Blogdom is pissed. Holy crapola! There have some heated posts on the subject. But I prefer the comments. Here is one of the best: Wow! Glad my dues are going toward stopping this heinous crime wave. Left unchecked, you could have brought down an entire industry. Pretty soon, everyone would be casually tossing around the term REALTOR at the xerox machine or in their jacuzzi or while playing frisbee on their pogo-stick. It seems that NAR is just trying to put a band-aid on their little problem. Cry me a river and hand me a kleenex. I think I need an aspirin. [...]

Is branding yourself as a Realtor really worth a damn anymore? The people most vocal on this seem to be Realtors and not the consumer. Is the designation REALTOR similar to getting an online degree for $19.95 only more pricey?

You tell me. I'm not a REALTOR and have only been in the biz a little over a year. The other two team members are. I have yet to see one instance where being a Realtor had any influence. Of course, I can't go to the convention - maybe that's the big deal.

I'll come back in a week or two when the poll's had some good exposure to the consumers on Zillow and post the results.
