You can tweet real estate listings on Twitter without being labeled a spammer if you do it the right way.
Since I surf the public Twitter timeline to see how others are using the medium, I’ve noticed more and more folks placing classified ads on Twitter (which oughta annoy the hell out of the Twitter cocktail partygoers… if they only knew). The smart ones are setting up separate Twitter accounts to reach the commercial crowd, separate and apart from the Twitter purists, who would unfollow/block them faster than Martha Stewart pulling a weed from her begonia bed. But the great thing about Twitter is freedom of “choice”.
Here are 10 Twitter classified sites for those who want to explore the Twitter marketplace of things, instead of ideas (a couch can be as useful as a concept). If you’re in the real estate business, I’d suggest setting up separate “commercial” Twitter accounts. If Google, and newer real time search engines, are indexing tweets, it may be a good thing.
iList: List anything on Twitter using special hashtags such as #ihave, #iwant #forsale #forrent“. Also has a search function to find stuff.
Tweetlister: Designed for real estate listings.
Tweetmart: A Twitter classified site for “On Sale”, “For Sale” items, and Job postings.
Twimarket: A buyer based site that asks the question: What are you looking for? Might be a good place for sellers looking for folks to buy their stuff.
Oodle: an established classified site is now channeling its ads to twitter.
Twitmart.org: “The Posting Title is sent as a twitter update, such as #wanted SUV or mini van to rent http://twitmart.org/v/XYa51. Your followers on twitter will see this update and can click the link to view the full posting. Others can find your ad by searching on twitmart.org, or http://search.twitter.com, or by viewing the Twitter public timeline.”
Tazaar: a Twitter bazaar. Hashtags #wts and #wtb (want to sell/buy) drive the classifieds. Search.
Tweba: Auction your stuff or post your classified ad directly to Tweba .If you add hashtags #ihave, #iwanttosell to your tweets they will be listed on Tweba. Tweba has category hashtags for searching. Tweba also allows you to upload images to your description.
Twibs: More of a twitter business directory but you can post ads.
Allof Craigs: Not a classifed site but searches classified ads on Craigslist, Twitter, Oddle, Kijiji and Backpage.
Add any other sites you know.
