RexNet.tv is a real estate video website created by Norvell Rose, a Realtor from Virginia Beach, VA. The videos I sampled were well produced. The user friendly video player features include Map (via Mapquest), Track (get alerts when listing changes), Rate (feedback), Email (video link), Save, and Print. A short preroll ad (5 seconds) does not disturb the viewing experience, which runs 2-3 minutes.
RexNetTV appears to be a relatively new website and only has video of properties in Virginia. But Norvell, who says he is a top producing agent with a previous career in broadcasting, says he intends to build a network of local affiliates across the US and Canada. Good luck Norvell.
One thing I’ve recently noticed about video —when you see a person walking through a room in a video (wideshot), it provides a scale to the room, something I feel is lacking in still photos and slideshows. A pleasant and informative voiceover also seems to be a worthwhile quality of video marketing of homes on the internet, which is growing more video focused, thanks to sites like YouTube. No one wants to read much anymore.

Greetings!
Thanks for the great post and the well wishes for Rex. I also appreciate your observation that seeing human movement in the video gives the viewer a sense of perspective in a property - a scale and room-flow impossible to achieve in other visual media. This is exactly why we craft our property tours as we do - involving real people in real video for real experiential engagement for the viewer. And offering a casual narrative to involve the viewer even deeper in the story of the featured home.
Yes, www.RexNet.tv features Virginia properties right now, but we do intend to develop “affiliates” in other market areas - the idea being to create an “Internet Television Network” of local “channels” with a video-rich localized environment for homes for sale and the agents who sell them.
Our question for agents everywhere… “Are you VideoActive(TM)?”

Videoactive– it has a nice ring to it.
Who produces the videos?
Norvell has a film and television background as do I. We are been producing the early videos to set a standard of achievement for the industry. We have begun taking on other cinematographers and editors as we expand our base — training them to be part of Generation Rex.
The product is top notch and generates excitement and believeability.
Visualization began with photos being published and has come to full face with the introduction of video enhancement with this product.
It is a winner!
We have had several spots produced and placed on Rex Net Tv. This was a new advertising media for us. The responses have been amazing. You need to check it out!
I am greatful to Norvell for bringing such an awesome marketing tool to us when marketing is so very important! My seller is extremely happy with how professional the video protrayed his home! As an agent it is a nice tool to have access to! Thanks Norvell!
It has come full circle for sure. From pictures to this style of video production, the real estate agent has just been escalated to “Movie Star.” The consumer had these wants back when the market was screaming list me, now its video me. Trying to become the local community for real estate in any market is a challenge, but as long as you know these guys…bounce rates, time on site, page views, etc. will eventually tell the G bot, “Hey, this site has video!” NAR 2008 Orlando, wish it was tomorrow…

When did Yahoo finalize the transaction with MyBlogLog??
