In certain California cities, if you get busted for a so-called minor offense (DWI is one) that lands you in the City Jail, you can do your hard time in a cushy jail cell. It’s called the pay-to-stay program. This little known loophole has existed for years. And get this—the jailbirds, called “clients”, get to use computers and iPods and get home cooked meals delivered.
Jailhouse rent is from $75-127 a night. The one above must be the cheaper version—- no maid service.

Sounds pretty nice to me. Does it come with benefits and an education assistance program?
WTF?
They have been dong this for sometime. I know a few people who took advantage of the offer to pay their debt to society.
This would be perfect for a blogger. One man’s jail cell is another’s retreat.
At least the city is getting some income.
I’m not going to ask how you knew about this the day after our party.
Sounds pretty fishy to me! The timing of your post does prompt one to consider the possiblities. I’ve never even heard of this option, but you can bet I’m going to star this post in my reader for future reference!
Location, Location, Location - of your wallet. Please tell me they have a party room, too. Maybe even conjugal co-ed cells for the husband-and-wife DWI-Domestic Disturbance tag teams.
