As Joe noted on my blog, it must be the heat that’s frying the brains of the AZBoA.

The bill that made it through the AZ Senate failed in the House today. So the AZBoAs ludicrous claims that Zillows AVM, and ONLY Z’s AVM is illegal still stands.

Our Attorney General appears to be the next government official about to stick his head where it doesn’t belong/

OK… I asked this on Active Rain on Roberta Murphy’s recent post about Arizona sending Zillow cease and desist papers…. If Zillow hires an appraiser in AZ are they OK? Does that pose too much liability to the appraiser? Would the Zestimates become appraisals and not AVM’s if Zillow got an appraisers license in the state? Would their Zestimates have to get closer if they were an appraiser in the state?

We too are “mutt lovers” Maureen but to participate in a dog show (appraise a home) you need a pedigree Hey, what a great idea—a dog show for the mutts. It would probably outdraw Westminster. I have a snoodle.

Just because the Zillow.com Zestimates are “Znowhere close” on a lot of properties doesn’t mean the values are appraisals. Zillow should be allowed to carry on – it is merely a consumer-facing AVM that needs to work on its valuation engine, like now.
