Laid off Zillowists Finding Work. Through the Glassdoor …

Overheard on Twitter:

Here’s the first post Zillow lay-off review on Glassdoor (click to enlarge).  Rich Barton said Zillow still had “sizeable cash reserves”, but this fellow couldn’t get a faster computer.  Go figure.

I am curious to see if any other laid off Zillow employees take advantage of the transparency provided by Barton & Co. on Glassdoor.  Call me opaque but why would you want former employees reviewing the company?

  • Well Joseph, if a former employee has good things to say, in spite of the position we now find ourselves in, that really does say a lot about how the business was run. The comment you showed from Glassdoor isn't mine, but I wouldn't differ too greatly from it. I was with the company for 3 years, so I don't share the knowledge gap with the above former employee. Even placement assistance from those still there has been completely unexpected and in my experience unprecedented. Some of us employees have now left, but we all still feel like family.

I think you'd only be concerned about what a former employee would write if you gave them reason to feel jilted.
  • That is a good point Ryan. Thanks for sharing.
